Brief Synopsis for Groovy
What sets this unique boat apart from the others on the market is that was on the production line at the same time as the new Hunter 45DS model, giving it two important upgrades:  a 66 gallon fuel tank instead of the usual 51 gallon tank and the Cherry interior
Also, several important cruising-oriented customizations were installed:
 1) A masterfully crafted stainless steel solar panel arch with integrated telescoping dinghy davits.  This beautiful system was fabricated with polished welds, and offers fabulous hand-holds while sitting in the jump seats.
 2) A huge 555 watt solar panel bank that not only provides power to the boat at anchor but offers extensive shading over the jump seats and transom.
 3) A massive engine-driven watermaker that generates 60 gallons per hour in the tropics and 44 gallons per hour in San Diego (differences due to water temperature and salinity).
 4) Custom stainless steel with rails (with polished welds) surrounding the cockpit, giving you solid handholds while walking about the perimeter of the cockpit.
 5) Superior ground tackle with 300' of 5/16 G4 chain and the highest rated anchor on the market, a stainless steel Ultra 60 lb anchor and Ultra Flip Swivel.
 6) A custom made 8" HMC latex mattress in the master stateroom.  This is the highest end mattress material available, ensuring the soundest possible sleep for the owners.
 7) A brand new Balmar 6-series 100 amp alternator and ARS-5 smart charger, installed in 2013
 8) 3 coats of bottom paint installed in August 2013
 9) Brand new packing gland material installed on the drive shaft in August 2013
10) Freshly waxed hull in August 2013
Accommodations
With a 2 stateroom, 2 head layout, the 44 DS is an ideal cruising platform for a couple with occasional guests or a family. This model has all of the factory upgrades installed, with a Bose surround sound system, larger flat-screen TV, Ocean air shades for the hatches, and very nice privacy shades for the salon windows. She shows as a new boat.
The bow of the boat is occupied by the V-berth. This is a large, comfortable berth, with custom memory foam mattress topper. A large opening hatch above keeps things cool in the tropics. To starboard is a large bank of lockers.
Aft to port is the forward head, fully equipped with a shower and Jabsco quiet flush electric head.
Aft again is the salon, with a wrap-around dinette to port, and a straight settee to starboard, The deck salon layout, of course, makes this a very inviting space, with great lighting and visibility.
The excellent galley occupies the salon space aft to port, with a huge amount of storage, generous refrigeration and counter space, and a host of high-end appliances.
To starboard aft is the nav station, with a large chart table, and access to all of the boat's electrical controls.
Furthest aft to starboard is the aft head, which is accessed through either the salon or aft cabin. This head is also fully equipped with shower and electric head.
The stern of the boat is taken up by the aft cabin. This is a large space, with a queen-sized centerline berth. The mattress for this berth is a very high-end 8'' HMC Latex Mattress, which is impervious to mildew, long lasting, and is very comfortable. Custom made-specially fitted sheets are included. This cabin also features an abundance of storage.
Finally, the cockpit should be mentioned. It's the gathering place for all while underway and at anchor, and this one is very nicely laid out and spacious. Lots of canvas covers the cockpit, and removeable shade screens keep the sun out and temperatures cool. A hot and cold fresh water shower is located on the transom.
