Tankage

Fuel is carried in two mild steel tanks each containing 500 U.S. gallons.  They are located in the aft port and starboard corners of the engine room.  There are individual ball valve shut offs at each tank and a fuel manifold which provides for crossover and isolation of individual tanks.  The original accoustic insulation tiles which enclose the tands were removed to allow inspection and cleaning of the tanks.  The tiles were replaced with Soundown lead lined ruberized panels which are removeable for tank inspection.  Some oxidation slag was removed from the top of the port tank and some light oxidation from the top of the starboard tank in 2008.  Both tanks were treated with Ospho, preped and painted with Marine Tex epoxy material.  The fill hoses were replaced and the deck fills were re-bedded.  The tank inspection plates were removed, and the interior of the tanks were cleaned and the fuel replaced.  New gaskets were installed when the inspection plates were reinstalled.  A more recent inspection of the tanks showed no internal deterioration in the inspected areas and baffles.  Dual 900 Racor fuel/water seperators are installed after the manifold at each engine.  A Reverso fuel polishing system was installed at the same time.  Fuel fillers are located on the side decks amidships port and starboard.
Potable water is carried in two aluminum 250 U.S. gallon tanks providing 500 gallons total.  Water is pumped to the plumbing system with a Galley Maid DC pump and pressure accumulator tank.
The 35 gallon holding tanks are fiberglass and have a capacity of approximately 35 gallons each. Both have recently installed stainless steel pickup tubes.

Accommodations

The interior accomodations are spacious and well arranged for comfort and safety whether underway offshore, inshore, while anchored or dockside.  The cabin is divided into three seperate living spaces.  The saloon is amidships and contains a large L-settee and teak hi-lo table in the dining area, a large well equipped galley, a bar with icemaker and a complete helm station.  There are seven large opening windows with screens, three non-opening windows and three large windshields.  The center windshield has a lower opening vent section.  The soles throughout the interior are teak parquet with removeable hatches where necessary.  The engine room area below the saloon has an access hatch with ladder and three other large removeable hatches for complete access. This area is entered from the wide side decks thru either of two hinged doors one portside aft and one starboard side forward.
The forward cabin area is down steps in the forward companionway and is arranged with a very large v-berth cabin forward, a guest cabin to starboard with twin berths, once which converts to a desk, and a hanging locker.  Portside in the companionway is a head and seperate stall shower.  The forward companionway stairs are hinged and provide access to the engine room.  The two guest cabins have opening ports, overhead hatches, brass reading lights and overhead lights.
The aft cabin is entered through two hinged teak doors at the top of a teak stairway.  This cabin is very spacious and features a custom arrangement.  There are two twin size beds with a built-in night stand with drawers.  A filler fits between the berths and converts these berths to one king size bed.  There are two large hanging lockers with teak louvered doors.  A large chart locker is beneath one berth and storage drawers.  There is a shelf on either side of the state room with drawers.  A companionway in the aft rear corner of the cabin has two hinged teak doors and a sliding hatch.  A ladder is contained in a storage area below the companionway doors and pulls out to provide use of the companionway.  The large head with stall shower is located forward in this cabin.  It has a hinged teak door, marine head, mirrored vanity with sink and storage.  The laurdry is located in a cabinet in the head.  There are recently replaced seperate washer and dryer units.  This cabin has opening hatches with screens and curtains.  Brass reading lights and overhead light fixtures are provided.
Lamps, accessories, curtains and upholstered cushions are used throughout the interior.   Beautifully turned teak joinery is evident throughout the interior.  This is the typical old world craftsmanship evident in all Grand Banks models. All cabinet doors have snap latches and all drawers have teak fronts, pull holes and lift pulls for security.  The teak parquet sole in the saloon has been refinished.  All the wood work in this boat shows very light use and is unusual for a boat of this age.

Galley

The galley is placed on the port side in the saloon and extends from the windshield to the port entry door.  It is well arranged and nicely equipped for food preparation underway or dockside.  The two large opening windows in the galley provide excellent ventillation and natural lighting.  Features and equipment include: Adler-Barbour refrigerator and freezer, large stainless steel sink with single lever faucet, three burner princess exectric cooktop, GE Microwave convection oven, large horizontal dish locker, overhead hinged dish and glassware lockers, above counter teak cabinet, drawers beneath countertop, hidden trash bin, pot & pan storage, A bar is opposite the galley and has bottle and glassware storage, fold-down serving tray and a built-in icemaker.

Electronics & Navigation

The electronics are mounted at the lower and upper helm stations.  A Raymarine C-120 GPS Plotter is mounted at the lower helm with an identical unit with a canvas cover carried to the flybridge helm console.  A Raymarine VHF unit is mounted at the lower helm with a repeater at the flybridge helm.  The autopilot primary controls are at the lower helm with a repeater on the flybridge.  Both helm stations have a large Danforth magnetic compass, Glendinning Synchronizer controls and bow thruster controls.
