Approaching the boat you notice that the Montauk design doesn't look like a 17-foot boat but more like a larger model due to the wide bow that accommodates seating for several and more spaces from which to fish than in a traditional bow design. You also quickly notice the elevated leaning post and the live well at the transom. While many Montauks are runabouts, pleasure craft, or tenders, this is a serious fishing machine as well.

The other thing you quickly notice is the big fuel tank under the helm seat. With a 90 HP Mercury 4-stroke sipping at the fuel tank, you can go a long, long way. finding your favorite fishing spot or just cruising the waters.
