Exterior Vessel Walkthrough
Starting at the bow area, there is an automatic windlass system with foot controls. There are 2 large built in dunage boxes positioned forward of the deckhouse for storing fenders, lines, extra anchor, cleaning supplies and just about anything else you may use on deck. The S.S. railings are high and there are S.S. grabs along the deckhouse for safety. The sidedecks are nice and wide for ease of access and have a toe rail on the perimeter for added safety. Walking down either side of the deck there are pilothouse doors to the wheelhouse. Continuing aft the are 2 molded in steps where sheerline brakes leading to the cockpit. The cockpit is uncluttered and very spacious. There is a large hatch giving great access to the lazarette where the Northernlights generator is located. There is good room for stowage here too. This vessel features a closed transom with 3 molded-in steps leading to a large full-width swim platform. In the cockpit against the forward starboard bulkhead is stored a nice boarding system for added safety making boarding and exiting the vessel very easy! There is a dinghy with electric davit mounted over the Salon hard top.
This Custom Huckins Pilothouse is very striking in appearance. You will note the timeless lines plus a few subtle custom additions like the raked transom, integrated molded-in swim platform and wings at the upper most deck really bring a soft rake to the overall appearance. Nena, offers a two stateroom down layout with in-suite master head and Guests stateroom with private access to the Guests head. There are overnight accommodations for two owners and four guests. The walk-through starts upon entering the port side pilothouse door at the bridge deck.
The bridge is positioned forward of the salon and up five stairs. There is no bulkhead between the salon entertaining area and the bridge deck this allows for better entertaining opportunity as one area is not separate from the other. The helm is positioned on the centerline. The Captains chair at center allows for full 380-degree view. The companion chair sits just to the right of the captain’s chair. This seating area is raised for better observation and allows for chart stowage, cabinet and draws for manuals and additional navigational aids. Both the captain and companion have folding footrest below the seating. There is two Pilothouse doors one to port and one directly to starboard on either side of the helm seating.
At the helm there are complete engine controls and full engine monitoring instrumentation for the 450-C Cummins engines. The nav-center hosts a full complement of electronics including, Raytheon, Robertson, Garmin and Dell Latitude laptop computer. Huckins pressure gauges monitor fuel for the engines and the generator. Aft of the helm to port is a built-in stowage cabinet and U-Line icemaker. To starboard is a similar cabinet where the ships breaker distribution panel is housed. Micro Mimi blinds cover the port and starboard flank windows and the aft window of the bridge deck. There is an overhead hatch just above the captain seat for added ventilation. The views from this deck provide perfect line of sight in all directions. It’s a great area for observation or simply hanging out with the Captain while under way. The pilothouse doors afford excellent access to the wide side deck when needed.
From the bridge deck positioned to port and forward is the companionway to the lower deck. Follow down 5 stairs to a landing and right and down 2 stairs. From here on the centerline the Guest Head is positioned to starboard. The Guest Quarters are forward most and the Owner’s Suite is aft. The Guest Head has ample counter space with stowage below and a mirrored medicine cabinet above. There is a Vac-u-Flush head and daylight shower. There is a door leading to the guest quarters for private access. The Guests Quarters are located at the forepeek. The guests berth is a large V-configuration with drawers beneath. Next to the entry and to port is a cedar-lined hanging locker and cabinet. The cabin has an overhead hatch and opening portlights to port and starboard for ventilation.
The Owners Suite is located through the companionway and aft. Upon entering there is a large stowage cabinet to port. The queen berth is located head positioned to starboard with two built-in nightstands with 4 draws and cabinet above with 3 generous sized shelves on either side. Over the head of the bed is a large shelf and 2 opening portlights. Below the bed there are 4 draws on either side. Against the aft bulkhead there is a set of doors leading to a large Cedar lined closet. The owner’s in-suite head is positioned to the port side. Upon entering the head, The hard surface counter runs full length, with mirrored twin medicine cabinets. Below the counter there is plenty of stowage. There is a nice size daylight shower and Vac-U-Flush head. This compartment has an opening portlight for ventilation. All cabins and compartments on the lower deck have piped-in air conditioning.
•2 Vacuflush Heads
The Galley is down five stairs from the bridge and is positioned full length along the port side gunwale. Lots of food prep counter space here and all of the full sized appliances you would expect at home. The L-shaped dinette is positioned directly to starboard and forward. This is a great conversation area with seating for six adults. Aft of the dinette is a built-in desk. At port and starboard there are flanking windows that run the full length of the salon. The windows have new cellular blinds that easily raised from either the top or the bottom. In the aft most area of the salon there is a large sliding glass window leading to the aft deck.
The salon is very light and airy and offers expansive views. There is abundant stowage below the counters, under the dinette and beneath the salon sole. Through a hatch and below the salon sole is the engine room. Access to the Cummins 450-Cs and machinery is very good, making service easy. The Refit in 2002 looks like it was completed yesterday, This what you want in an engine room, nice and clean, very tidy!
